Faith Where will your faith take you?... Faith we all say that we have it and that is the very reason that we say that we believe in Jesus. But where is your faith leading you? When was the last time that you really believed that your faith grew or changed? Do you think that faith has a ceiling and once it reaches that point you cant go any further? How far has your faith gone? Think about the day that you first used your faith. It might be the day that your earthly father or mother told you to jump to them from the edge of the pool. They were calling you out to trust them that they would catch you and not let your drown. You looked at them and then you trusted them and jumped. You learned something that day. You learned that you could trust have faith in your father or mother. Over the years that trust (faith) would grow and you would trust them for more and more. Sometimes your faith in your mother and father may have been well broken because they were not able to complete the task that they asked you to trust them in. That’s okay they are human, and well sometimes we fall. There will be another day that your faith will be called on and you will have to have faith in them again. When we talk about faith, we of course think of Jesus and the faith that we have in Him. Is your faith growing? Are you trusting Him and showing Him you have faith in Him? Faith has to be worked out and used for it to grow. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus had this to say to His disciples. 20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. ’” I always feel good when I read this verse, because even His disciples did not always get it right. They needed to be encouraged and pushed forward. So I feel like I am not failing completely when I don’t have enough faith. It also encourages me to keep going! There is always something more for me to learn and for me to see. Faith has no ceiling and if it did then you would have to say that the ceiling would be to move mountains from one spot to another. So when you think about your faith be encouraged, for we all have room to grow and to see our faith become something truly wonderful. Never stop looking for ways to grow your faith and your relationship with God!

How is your vision? We have goals and visions for everything... We all want to get better at something, and we all want to achieve so many things. Our life is filled with vision and goals. Think about sports you work hard to get better not get worse. We study and study to get good grades. Some of us play video games for hours so that we might get better at the game and move up to the next level. Not just talking about gammers here, you got an IPhone, ITouch, IPad. then you got games that you play for well countless hours. Wh It is fun and you want to improve your high score. Now I am not judging you, I am just trying to make a point. We set goals and live with vision so that we get better. Look at me trying so hard all the time to capture that perfect video. I want to be better. I invest in equipment and work my tail off to achieve a better product. So where am I going with all this? Well have you ever set goals or lived by a vision for your spiritual life? I mean it seems like very few of us set goals to be a better christian or even have a closer walk with God. It seems like these things we leave up to it will happen when it happens. But the thing is it just doesn’t happen. We have to see that we need to apply in these areas as well. Check out 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. Our spiritual Journey is a race, an event that we must strive after. Have a vision and set some goals, and in the end you will win the race! |
