Day One Blog

Hello to all! Just wanted to keep you up to date on al that is going on here at camp!
Our drive was an easy and smooth one, the kids were super pumped and excited to arrive at camp.
We meet up with the Basalt crew and headed on out! Everyone got along just fine on the van ride. The vans did smell just a bit here and there on the way, but that is all part of the fun and the experience!
We had dinner in Eagle at the Wendy's everyone at to their full!
We arrived at camp around 8:30 and the place was already hopping with tons of other middle school students and people to welcome and greet us as is the tradition of Young Life. We rolled in with a rock star welcome.
We had our first Club last night and it was jammed full with 475 kids and leaders. It was awesome to see our kids get into it and mix it up with so much excitement! The speaker laid out a beautiful and thought provoking club talk on how do you see Jesus, who is He to you! The kids and leaders were captive and listened so well. The Gospel and the message of Jesus will never ever get old, I can hear people talk about it all day.
Club finished up around 10:45 and the night was not done yet, we played an awesome game of mission impossible where the MS students had to find us their leaders in the dark, very exciting! Then the game ended up with a giant game of doge ball in the gym, which they became a dance party with about one thousand glow sticks being thrown in the darkness of the gym! Everyone had a blast!
This moved us to about 11:30 and the night was moving to the best part! Cabin time! This is where we gather in our cabins and dig into the message and the reason we are here. The guys spoke out speaking with depth and honesty about the things that are going on in their lives. How the club talk impacted them and what they are processing as we come to this very thin place. Frontier Ranch is described as a thin place because the presence of God is so easy to encounter here. That became evident last night as our guys dug in and started going after discussions that will change how they see life from here on out!
It has been awesome and we are not even into a full 12 hours of being here! Today will be packed with fun and adventure to say the least!
Pray that our time here will be ever impacting and that it will leave a lasting impressing on each of us and that what we experience here will impact our valley when we return back on Sunday!
As I write this please know that your children are still sleeping and resting up from the late night last night!
Breakfast is in about an hour or so!

Day Two Blog

Another awesome day! Wow we do a ton in just a matter of hours! Yesterday was action packed, and filled with great memories. The weather was perfect! Each of your kids went for it and had a blast!Started off the morning with an awesome breakfast, and then headed out to play some awesome cabin games! Some of the crazy photos will be of us playing cabin games! Then we had an awesome club, where we were challenged to think about how we try to find life in things other than Jesus! This lead to a great cabin time where we were able to talk deep about the distractions that pull us away from allowing God to be our source of life. The kids really processed and dug into this time. After lunch we had our messy games which were awesome and so much fun! The kids and leaders had a blast, it is just freeing to get messy and get others messy!
Yesterday afternoon was filled with plenty of free time! Kids went swimming, bought stuff at the store, hung out in the game room, played basket ball and had tasty treated in the snack bar. During this time we as leaders just get to hang out and have awesome times just being as we share memories with your kids. My favorite part of the weekend!
Last night dinner was awesome, and then we had a rocking club! Where the Gospel was fully laid out! At the end of club last night your children were given a wonderful gift of fifteen min. of complete silence in the darkness of camp to just sit and talk with God! I love this time because it is rare that our kids get to be alone and to have silence with no noise pounding them!
It has been an awesome camp!We will be heading home in only a few more hours but there is still more to come!Thank you for allowing your child or children to come along on this
