Hello to all, allow me to thank you for checking out this trip for your son or daughter. I am very excited to hit the ground running working in the Bayou La Baret. There is just something about short-term mission trips which create such a change in the individual who is serving. If you have ever been on a short-term mission trip, you know what I am talking about the change in the serving individual is impactful. While the service that is being done to the local community is beneficial and impacting, it is a two way street and both are affected. I am hoping that many of the students that we take on this trip are first timers so they may have a fresh taste of the impact that will change how they see the world and service. Please look over the details on this page, take a look at the video, and in the end, I hope that you talk with your child and encourage them to attend this trip. If everyone agrees then click the Register Now button and sign up I promise you that the trip will be awesome and life changing.

About Bayou La Baret Your child will encounter the resilient spirit of Bayou La Batre as you serve through home improvement projects, elder care and children’s ministries. In the evenings, you’ll experience Dauphin Island, a worship service at Gospel Way, a tour of Bayou La Batre and a cookout near the water. You’ll also encounter many community friends who have shared their community with YouthWorks staff, students and adult leaders for years. YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 1998.
Who: Any child who has completed the 6th grade thru 12th grade can attend this trip.
When: July 2-14 or 15 (If We Drive) July 3-12 (if we fly)
Cost: For Now we will need $50.00 deposit at time of registration.
Fundraising: Starting on Febuary 14 (Valentines Day) we will be hosting Date Nights here at the church. This is a child care night where parents can drop of their children for a fee and go on a date night. The plan is to host these to raise enough money for each child to go with no money need from the parents. We will also be launching a campaign to raise money from family and friends.
Why: To grow in our relationship with God and to see that the world is much bigger than Aspen. We need to experience all that God is doing and getting out of the bubble of Aspen will do us all a world of good.
